I like it when this event turns up on social media. One of the things I'm proudest of is having done the catering for performers/volunteers at this. I think after all the food had gone I tidied up and left. In some small way I feel I contributed to social history.....

My mum used to chat with Ronnie on the bus into Colchester when, I think, he was a librarian. The area around the house is very beautiful and was a great playground for me as a kid. Yet another reason to visit North Essex

I used to eat here in the 1980s. I wouldn't say that the vegetable madras cured hangovers but it was very good at alleviating the symptoms....
