meat chickens grow much faster. if a flock of meat chickens is culled, they can be replaced, and the flock will still be butchered and delivered on time. it's like 6-8 weeks for meat chickens to grow big enough. egg chickens take as long just to start laying eggs.

it's a simple cycle. kill/capture monster, make armor and weapons from monster parts, go kill bigger monsters with armor and weapons. repeat. you play for the satisfaction of progression.
