I was reading Hayek's 'Road to Serfdom' on the train this morning.

A man tapped me on the shoulder and said 'great book, 10/10, inspiring'.

Not quite the whole carriage cheering, but we'll get there...

Jésus Armas is a voice for freedom and democracy in Venezuela, and a former IEA intern.

Last night he was arbitrarily detained by six masked agents and is believed to be in famous torture prison El Helicoide.

We have written to the Foreign Sec asking the British Government to intervene.

More community policing is welcome. It reduces crime and makes people feel safer.

However, there's a fundamental issue at the heart of law and order in the UK - where do you put the criminals once they're caught?

Yet another thing that doesn't work because of planning.

I wrote for ConHome 👇
Callum Price: The Government is right to focus on community policing, but it's not the whole answer | Conservative Home
The problem at the heart of the government’s plan is all too familiar. It does the headline grabbing stuff around the edges, but risks shying away from the necessary but difficult fundamental reforms ...

There are no teams in the Premier League it has been worse to support over the last 30 years than Everton.

Never done well, but never done so badly to give a fun promotion season or underdog cup run either.

Always somewhere between disappointment and narrowly avoiding disaster.

I'm in favour of legalising assisted dying. With all of the appropriate safeguards, individuals should be able to make this decision - not the state.

But the liberal case can cut both ways.

What's weirder, how often Elon Musk tweets about UK politics, or how excited everybody gets when he does?

I've been persuaded to give this a go...
The best way to prevent Bluesky becoming a left-wing echo chamber is to go join it.

Why those, like me, who are on the right should give Bluesky a try (and so should everyone else, too).
