How have you been? How’s Bluesky holding up under all the new members?

Doing ok. Had a ruff year but on the mend. It’ll take more than open heart surgery to finish me off…

No, it stopped after Rentokil seemingly wiped out all the nature in the area. Kestrels, Squirrels, Magpies, Jays and more all vanished. But just 6 short months later they’re bouncing back, including the Jays who I especially love.

I’m going to be in PA later this year working and am planning on a DC visit! I’ll add ‘looking for squirrel’ to my to do list.

Do you mean the Dove in Hammersmith? I’m not a beer connoisseur, but I do like it- I was working in Pennsylvania last year and they’re crazy about sours and fruity beers, micro breweries all over the place, so it felt rude not to try them. All of them. Craft beer was better there than here imo.

If you’re near squirrels you’ve almost certainly heard them, and maybe assumed it was very loud birds. I find their shouting to be hilarious. They do it to warn about predators, scare off other squirrels, attract other squirrels etc. I’ll dig out some footage of my squirrel shooting at me.
