It's the largest and most visible non-right gun subreddit, mostly because it's a really convenient namespace. "Liberal" being basically synonymous with "the left" to the majority of politically-uneducated Americans.

I also can't quite tell if the ridiculously over-the-top "training" is a critique/satire of warrior cult mentality, or a genuine rule-of-cool expression of it. Doesn't help that the main character's perspective is so completely normalized to the culture that she barely even questions it.

More generally, characters touching explicitly on topics like "consent" and "toxicity" is a good way to score points with Tumblr and BookTok but feels really out of place in the setting. I feel it could have been handled more subtly.

Enjoyed less the cartoonishly edgy tone; it felt really tryhard and forced sometimes.

I'd hazard a guess that many users are fighting the wrong battles with their algorithm instead of massaging it to fit their needs, maybe because they don't understand what it keys off.

For whatever the algorithm does generally due to content, it also is very tuned into validating the user's interaction patterns. Contrary to many people, I basically never see right-wing or AI content because I'm very careful about what i interact with.

I'll be a dissenting voice and say that I almost always see new InRange videos on my homepage the day they come out, and I usually interact with them immediately by watching or putting on my watch-later list.

Balance this against your own ability and risk factors. Guns are incredibly dangerous and powerful. I don't advocate people get them unless they can also store and train with and use the weapon safely and effectively.
If you know you can do that, it's worth considering. If not, don't.

The point is making it harder for them on the whole. If their targets start shooting back, they'll be forced to allocate more resources and exercise more caution until they're stretched too thin to be effective.

As a leftist gun owner I get this sentiment, I really do. But that's a bell that can't be unrung.
It's also really hard when all the people on the left have spent 60 years saying guns are evil fascist stuff, and now everyone's shocked that only the fascists are the ones with guns.

The people at the top doing this stuff are almost invariably anti-gun or indifferent regardless of party affiliation. Republican majority govt hasn't passed meaningful pro-gun legislation in... basically ever. They just pretend to be for political clout and opposition theatre.

They do! The METE lineup all have optic-ready slides, as well as several of their newer competition-style models
(Unless you mean specifically for the TP9DA, which I don't think is possible due to the decocker. I used a dovetail plate and it's held zero just fine)

I don't have any good information one way or the other. My gut feel says deliberate ambush though, and it seems that's how the authorities are treating it.
