there’s a new generation of thai chocolate makers shining a spotlight on thai cacao farmers. they’ve won plenty of awards, and their photogenic shops are winning over a lot of tiktok and instagram influencers, but what sets them apart is how they sell their chocolate bars: as hot or iced cocoa.

there’s a new generation of thai chocolate makers shining a spotlight on thai cacao farmers. they’ve won plenty of awards, and their photogenic shops are winning over a lot of tiktok and instagram influencers, but what sets them apart is how they sell their chocolate bars: as hot or iced cocoa.
This rich chocolate milk used to be my favorite duty-free item at Haneda Airport, a reward for getting to the departure lounge and, once the sugar high wore off, a sleeping aid during the red-eye to Bangkok. Sadly, Ishiya seems to have stopped making it.
