Mine are from 2017-ish. They started using biodegradable armour then. Took these to Peru for 4 months with occasional insect repellent use on hands & face, & sunscreen use, which virtually destroyed the armour. This 2nd armour has lasted better. Swaro advised to clean after every use, but who does?

2nd armour on my EL8x42 now held on by electrical tape on both barrels. Pic from a few months ago showing eyecup deterioration. Swaro agreed to send new eyecups. Will now have to send in for armour replacement. Ok if less <10 years old, but eventually will have to pay for biodegradability of armour.

Great review Scott! I saw this through @stevedudley.bsky.social 's repost and I bought a pair from Bushcraft which arrived today. They feel great and I am looking forward to trying them out on a trip to Portugal in the next few weeks. I'll let you know how they fare!

Thanks Steve! I was scanning thru the c.100 BHGs on beach & I think I shouted to Debbie “Holy Christmas, that’s a Bonaparte’s!” Head pattern looks similar to the Sennen bird so assume it’s the same one? A lot of people & dogs on beach by lunchtime when it & most of the BHGs went & sat on the sea.

This Fully Charged podcast is a really good explainer of the issues from the CEO of ENSO and discusses the company's drive to tackle the problem. We need all tyre manufacturers to think like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oss3...

Thanks Reuben. Interesting read. I didn't see the bird on Saturday but from the photos it appears as though this bird has a much more prominent chinstrap than the previous bird, could be just the light angle though.

BTO app still shows Pendennis to Maenporth as vacant - do you need help with this one on Sunday or did you do it early?
