A&E waiting times are shocking. Over 50,000 people in England waited more than 12 hours in November, after the decision to admit. But that has been the case for each of the last 3 winters! And the system is failing to recover in the summer.

We need to acknowledge the systemic issue, not blame flu.

The purpose of politics is to endlessly recreate the primal scene in which I (the wise teacher) patiently explain to a group of children why they can't just have dessert for lunch.

Yup. It's always lefties with incorrect feelings who are the problem, never the establishmentarians who cheer the right's campaigns of lies and bullshit against the left and are surprised every time to find the guns training on them.

Don't know if it's ever been suggested for a franchise mini-super, but Charters & Caldicott, the delightful cricket buddies/gay couple from Strangers on a Train, were so popular they span off into other movies, four with the original actors plus a remake of SOAT. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charter...

At only 1.5 hrs it's inevitably limited, especially in its treatment of non-Hollywod cinema, though sadly the dearth of women is a (somewhat) accurate reflection of the history of cinematography But due to when it was made it's an accidental paean to the pre-digital age of cinema.
