Best book I’ve read this year: Petit pays by #GaëlFaye. About a 10 year old boy growing up in Burundi during 1992-1994. Starts with kids being kids, then ethnic tensions lead to coups d’etat & escalating violence. Children try to maintain touchstones w/ increasing difficulty. Masterful writing
