Another example of how little Vance knows of history (Just how little he knows - period?) When I was his age in the last century, abortion was illegal. We've moved forward in women's rights. Now he wants the US to move backwards again.

😀😀 In college, I lived in girls' dorm, he in guys'. His 1st floor window was across from entrance to cafeteria buildng. I knew he wasn't up yet if I heard the music from his turntable connected to electric alarm clock. Have spent >50 yrs together & still listening to loud music.

It was amazing 1st time they did this. But we have 160,000 students in 200+ schools.

When we lived in Houston TX 30 yrs ago, principals/teachers had fits trying to keep students separated from unknown adults. Tried to use gyms for voting but parking wasn't near doors. Wasn't fun at all.

Today Wake County, NC school board voted to close schools on March 3 primary for students on all calendars due to so many of them serving as polling sites. It frees up parking and makes it easier for students/parents/teachers to get to front door.

Wake year-round schools will now close for March 3 primary election in NC
Wake had already scheduled March 3 to be a day off for students on the district’s other calendars.

I've spent the year listening to audiobooks checked out from my public library. Last night I finished your book "Coming Up Short" so I count that as 1 step of an informative, enjoyable journey this year. On to the next book I've checked out!

Totally agree. Our public library has more than 4,000 different audiobooks and 20k different eBooks to check out. I doubt I'll ever buy another book again.

I am SOOOO with you! Monday night I was still wide awake at 4:30 am, and I had taken all my usual night meds at normal time. Ended up taking an extra pill that let me go to sleep within another hour, but I still was up @ normal time.

But this isn't anything new. Trump and his minions have sold out [or been willing to sell out] any person, country... if it would benefit himself personally. I have little doubt he would sell out Witkoff or Kushner if it would benefit himself either.

As a math geek, I recommend you follow to old rule: Compare apples to apples.
The richest 1000 US citizens are worth X, but the bottom 1000 US citizens are worth Y
OR
It takes 100 of richest in US to equal X number of poorest US citizens.

So does that mean if you buy a can of evaporated milk to use in your pumpkin pie (or even the can of pumpkin puree for said pie), you will have to pay 50% extra on each of those items?

Only problem is that August 12, 2025 is a Tuesday. Monday is/was (depending on when you read this) is August 11.

I'm old woman who's had many viruses (measles, chickenpox, mumps, lots of influenza, colds,...) since the '50s & '60s & adult in '70s+. As soon as vaccines were available for our children, we got them. Why would anyone not want to prevent this by vaccinating themselves & children?

I understand. When we moved to TX in late 1990's, governor & senators tended to alternate parties - 2 terms Dems, 2 terms GOP. It's not at all like that now. We moved to anoter state about the time that state lost its way.
