(Extremely over the framing of global Jewry as uniquely culpable when Christian Zionists outnumber Jews of all kinds and American tax dollars paid by all Americans are funding giant swathes of it.)

The genocide in Gaza isn't about Jews. It's about colonialism.

Is “Not In Our Name” Jewish organizing around Palestine inflating our culpability as Jews—and downplaying our complicity as Americans ?

A random reel just reminded me about Station 11. Quite honestly one of the greatest TV shows I have ever seen. I promise to read the book. Seriously, though, watch it!

This is how moral relitavism is used to continually smooth the way for the right. PressProgress etc don't use platforms to lie and spread disinformation to stoke violence and fear. All journalism comes from a perspective but there is a difference between that and being a handmaiden for fascism.
This would be simple to settle if journalists could still say: let's get rid of them from press spaces, not because they're on the *wrong* political side, but because we are journalists and they are activists.

But then could PressProgress still attend? Could The Narwhal? 7/x

There is nothing greater in Canadian politics than the leader of the bloc in the English language debates. "I don't want to be prime minister" lmao priceless.

The cover that Trump gives to liberals to pretend that racism is new and an "emerging trend coming from the south" is fucking insufferable. Did we learn nothing?

More budget politics. The suggestion that a member of Council can propose line by line operational or programming changes to a police budget is fantasy. The law is clear and every member of Council was schooled on it during last year’s budget. #HamOnt

I hate elections. I tend to see them as a colossal waste of collective energies. I do take a harm reduction approach to voting, but you are never going to convince me that meaningful change happens through elections.

Something I can't get over about Poor Things is the way they portray her "early talk". The misconstructions of English are based on racist caricatures and she doesn't have the speech patterns or manerisms of a toddler or young child. It's just off.

Although I am not xtian, in the religious house I was raised in I was taught that while xmas is special the truly holiest time of year is Easter and so I find the self own of insiting on December as xtian heritage month rather amusing. Be engaged with the spiritual meaning of your faith or don't.
