Had a wonderful experience at the University of #Wrocław’s Summer School on #Holocaust literature & film.

Incredibly well-organized w/ thoughtful lectures, engaging workshops, a visit to #Gross-Rosen concentration camp & time in #Jewish Wrocław at the old synagogue & dinner at Jewish restaurants

The next #Stolpersteine in #Jersey are for Jean and Marcel Rossi, deported for refusing to work for the Germans and having Italian ancestry. They experienced #Gross-Rosen, #Blechhammer and #Hersbruck concentration camps. Marcel died on a forced march.

The Holocaust & Genocide Centre in Cape Town is uniquely housed in a complex that also features a kosher restaurant, a Jewish library, the museum of the South African Jewish experience & the oldest synagogue in Cape Town.

Absolutely worth the visit…!

Recently visited the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre.

I really enjoyed the focus on pre-war Jewish life, including sports, music, & other cultural activities, as well as the exhibition’s effort to explain Judaism & Jewish customs through ritual objects.
