He does a Josh accent but with a full white beard. It seems... off.

I wonder if Arthur was really that corrupt but became a reforming president due to Garfield's example?

I know very little about presidential history from 1865-1900 or so.

I did in fact, haha!

To say the least! I knew we were in a for a ride when it started with Everyday People by Sly and the Family Stone.

Meanwhile, Netflix started playing House of Lightning about James Garfield, and it's opening track is Everyday People by Sly and the Family Stone, and I was not expecting that. #hatm

The bit between the Sec Def and his (estranged?) daughter worked really well.

What really matters in life? I actually found that a bit convicting.

I like the ambiguous way the movie ends.

It's unsettling. Like the entire prospect of nuclear war.

We don't know what happens. And we won't.

Jonah Hauer-King is also inspired casting.

FWIW, he's English and is best known as playing Prince Eric in Disney's remake of Little Mermaid (2023).

You are NOT surrendering if you take time to figure out who actually launched the missile.

Unless ALL of our Intel assets are locate in Chicago. Which they aren't.

"The best chance some of us survive this" is to launch an all-out nuclear exchange is some of the worst advice I've ever heard. And that's saying something. #hatm

And now there is a reference to a podcast! And people say this movie is not realistic. #hatm

It's crazy to think that the primary personal advisor to POTUS in this situation is an O-4 USN officer is also nuts. But entirely possible. #hatm

There is good acting in this film, from start to finish. And good writing. Whatever its plot problems, it's a high quality production. Very well done, IMO. #hatm

The close up shot to Eisenhower's portrait was a great touch. #hatm

Oh wow! I need to finish that one (the remake). It was too depressing for me to get through the first time. #hatm

I like this foreboding music. Not as haunting as Dunkirk, but same idea. #hatm

It's pretty crazy that the Sec Def does not know that the ADA system only has a 61% chance of success. If he was a normal Sec Dec*, he would've absolutely already known that.

*yes, I realize that's not a foregone conclusion anymore

He was a brilliant George VI. Really made the first few episodes, along with Alex Jennings. #hatm
