He said, “Kiss me, Stede.” Stede followed, and there was no room for Jesus, and their hips didn’t politely keep apart. “I am,” Stede said, and kissed him. “I am, Ed,” he said, and kissed him again.

Such a soft kiss, at first. Barely anything. A more firm press of the lips. Ed put a hand against Stede's chest. Stede kissed his bottom lip with a soft noise. They pulled apart and looked at each other. They floated there for a second. Ed thought: remember this moment. The gravity came back and they crashed back together. Stede's hand found its home in Ed's hair, cupping his head. Ed was sucking Stede's tongue into his mouth, drinking up Stede's little moan. Stede was biting his lip and Ed was gasping. Ed's tongue was in Stede's mouth and his hand was in Stede's fluffy hair, messing it up.

The sun through their bedroom window, spilling warm light on Stede's back and illuminating Ed's hair like a halo of quicksilver. Time enough to greet every curve of her body, one by one, and catalogue each sigh, each gasp, each cry. Her fingers digging sweet pink lines into his skin. They'll trace them together, later. Molasses kisses, thick and heavy, as he fucks her just as slowly.

Baby's first poem.

#OFMDAUpril day 5: a day late, but what can ya do
Violet, grow, slide, dig, fizz.
Like the vibrant blossoms in the garden they share where Stede plucks and digs in with his fingers, her skin blooming with shades of rose and violet here, in their bed, rough pull, soft planting. Glistening drops of morning dew, kissing the beads of sweat from her brow Salt on his tongue, swallow every sigh here, her back arches, reaching for the sun. Tangle of vines, of legs, of long silver hair inhaling the heady perfume of her skin watching her unfurl beneath his touch here, bright fizz of sensations, sweetest fruit. Hand sliding across scars of seasons past, marks of harsh winters he could not tend but softness, too, with dawning spring here, their garden, grow together, new.

I had fun with this one hehe!!!
The sun is getting low. Ed squints into the warm light to watch a familiar silhouette grow as it gets closer. His heart swells. Seems to do that a lot lately. "Finally got Arthur to calm down," Stede says as slides down to join Ed on the ground, their backs resting on the barn. Arthur is grazing quietly by the stable, the bastard. Had them both running like clowns earlier. "Found this by the fence, though." He holds up a small, perfect, bright golden blossom, and hands it forward. Ed stares at it, wide-eyed. "Kallstroemia grandiflora." Stede blasts him with a smile that's downright dazzling. His dimple is dazzling. His fuckin' gold hair and amber eyes reflecting the desert sun are dazzling. Stede taps Ed's boot with his own, breaking him out of his daze. Fuck. How long was it since he blinked last? He blinks. "Here, it's for you, cowpoke." Ed huffs a laugh as Stede moves to hand it to him, but when Ed says frozen, he lifts it up and gently tucks it behind his ear. "There." What the fuck. Ed forgets to blink again. Forgets to breathe. He flushes. "Look at that. Desert flowers suit you, Ed."

"Who's the one doing the smacking here?" Ed puts his hands up in deference. "Sorry. Of course. Smack on." "Thank you." "I respect your smackery." "Good." "It's the pickles who are wrong." "It does feel personal." "Fuckin' asshole pickles." "Now listen here, pickles!" "Tell em, Stede." "I will have victory, pickles! I am the pickle... killer!" "'You'll never take us alive!'" "Your deaths will be swift!" "'Please, think of our families!'" "Aw, Ed. Don't make them have families." "They're messing with you, mate. Trying to get inside your head." "Right. You won't beguile me, pusillanimous pickles!" SMACK. POP! "HA!" Stede slams the jar down and puts his hands on his hips, grinning and satisfied. "Crushed it, babe. Really put them in their place." "That one looks a bit smug there, doesn't it, Ed."
