Our electric utility gave us 6 months of free driving because we installed an EV charger that responds to peak power events. In addition they will pay us $50 a year as long as we participate. We can even opt out of a couple of events if needed. www.bchydro.com/powersmart/r...

Learning about the Alberta Electrical Grid. Gas fired cogeneration is inflexible and makes up 40% of the electric generation stack in Alberta.

Our local IKEA offers 2h free EV charging and has a large fleet EV truck charging area. Great to see the growth in electrified fleet's

In our market vertical ground source starts at about 300-400% of the price of air source. Mostly we see it on top of market / high end single family detached builds. COP matters in that lower COP delivers higher operating cost. Capacity is another metric to consider.

I was reading a study of cold climate heat pumps vs standard. I was surprised to see the COP (coefficiency of Performance/ efficiency) was similar at most temps & the COP of the standard equipment was a little better for most temperatures Vancouver BC Canada sees. let me know if you want the report

All good things come to an end. I got a free charge here 17 times last year. Hard to get because it was free, availability will improve now. Hopefully a still cheap price.

It would be great to remove the 100% tariff that Canada put on EV's from China. There is good public support. www.ctvnews.ca/business/aut...

Mexican watermelon selling well in the foreground. American watermelon is marked down but not moving. Canadians are avoiding American products when they can.

I just see the cord theft here and know there is a better solution.

Check out these curbside Electric Vehicle chargers in London (UK). I like how the one disappears when not in use.

I was on a call with staff from Copenhagen this morning. Part of their presentation covered the new ring road tunnel and sections they are building, because "the existing ring road is congested". I was hoping to see more from them.

We added 6 electric hot water tanks and 4 heat pumps into a 1960s 6 unit townhouse building. Using Canadian made Evectrix load management, they were able to avoid an upgrade to the original 200A 3 phase service. Today was the media event with Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions Adrian Dix!

I would be hard pressed to point to an industry where private equity has improved the product or service. "Plunder" is a great book on the topic.

I caught someone stealing tonight. They did a break and enter in our neighborhood some weeks back. I recognized them, called
@vancouverpd.bsky.social ,criminal tried to flee, I gave chase. VPD was on the phone and arrested them a few blocks away. They had an outstanding warrant, straight to jail.

Our electric utility just launched a flat and time of day rate option. They have a tool online to look at your two previous years of smart meter data. For our house the time of day rate saves a couple of hundred dollars if we shift EV charging and some dishwasher time to overnight.

Looks like IKEA Richmond has some big Electric Fleet plans! This in addition to their current offering on the customer side, where they give 2H free EV charging 24A@208V, $5/h after.

There should be an option on hotel travel searches for "120v outlet provided". I was searching for a hotel in Banff, those with EV charging were 2x$. I went with a lower price option & 120v was enough over our 3 day stay. Outlets left over from Now removed old central vac system.

It's a passive house plus energy bill for two months. 32 cents for all their energy including an electric vehicle. The magic of solar and passive house!

Stopping to get a charge in #Merritt BC. The gas station adjacent to chargers is in receivership at the same time they've tripled the number of chargers here which is great because they're generally well used.
