Paddled Constitution Marsh today and cut it close getting back out under the train trestle. Had to squeeze as far down into my kayak as possible and pull myself through using my hands and the bridge itself, fighting the current.

I had to visit four streams before I found one at a fishable temperature. (70F, 75F, 70F, and then finally 58F). This week's heat wave put the hurt on local trout fishing. Caught this juvenile wild brown. #tenkara

After being held up with a stomach bug for almost a week, I got back out on the water today. Beautiful day.

Update: They work! I caught 4 brown trout on them on the east branch of the Croton. All 8-10in.

After months of downtime because I decided to try to switch to an unstable Debian branch and botched it, I'm finally reflashing my FreedomBox and starting fresh.
Fixed my net holder with pop rivets in the corners where the stitches ripped out. I rummaged around and found a washer that just fit the rivet so it wouldn't pull through. After it popped, I flattened it on the railroad anvil.

Fran Betters' Haystack is a classic for a reason. A little scruffy, but they catch fish. I caught seven brown and two brook trout on the reddish one yesterday, often snatched the moment it hit the water. I'm tying up some more colors and sizes for my box. #flytying
