The past couple years I’ve written this post at the end of December as kind of a year-end recap. This year I thought I’d change it up and do it on Thanksgiving instead.

Came home to a package full of flies from the Tenkara Angler kebari swap. Really beautiful, inspiring flies in the puck. All of them, including the ones not pictured are wonderful.

This is the kind of AI use I prefer: Fast information processing on something that would be very tedious and not fun for a human. Writing a custom parsing script for different episodes would be tedious and fragile, too. Keep the fun creation for humans, leave tedious processing to the bots.

This is why a lot of kids stop reading. We force "nutritious" books down their throats, instead of indulging them wildly on books they enjoy.

Also, the fun and subversively silly books seem to evaporate in upper grade levels.

If books taste like oatmeal, a wise person will play video games.

An integral part of getting a CSA (veggie share) is freezing/preserving what you won't use that week. We've been getting lots of celery and carrots, so I chopped them up and froze packs for soup this winter.
