Fast food workers organizing for racial and economic justice in the industry and to rewrite the rules.

1st statewide Fast Food Council and $20/hr for fast food workers.

#UnionsForAll
If McDonald's won't immediately transfer us to one of the nearby stores with openings, we'll ratchet up pressure on the California Fast Food Council to adopt rules STATEWIDE protecting fast food workers when employers sell, transfer or close their restaurants.

Last year workers organized a strike at this location due to a rat infestation.

First we organized a strike due to for the rodents scurrying around the store, now it's due to the rats in the c-suite closing the store without finding new jobs for long-term employees. www.kron4.com/news/bay-are...

BREAKING: Oakland McDonald’s strike begins days before Thanksgiving.

The company notified workers it's suddenly closing the store about a week ago, leaving us without jobs at the end of the month.

That's not how you treat your employees of nearly 20 years!

Baristas at Starbucks aren’t getting enough hours to pay the bills or qualify for benefits. It’s time for Starbucks executives to bring forth new proposals that address
@sbworkersunited.org demands so unionized baristas can all move forward. #NoContractNoCoffee

We're gearing up to continue day 12 of our of our national, open-ended ULP strike! Starbucks executives need to know, wherever Starbucks is, @sbworkersunited.org picket lines will be there too until unionized baristas win a fair contract and an end to union busting. #NoContractNoCoffee

Bosses don’t want us to openly talk about our wages. They know their business model relies on wage theft

Talk about your wages
Talk about workplace retaliation
Talk about accrued sick time

Talk about the unsanitary or unsafe conditions you’re forced to work in

We wont let bosses stand in our way.

We organized and won a $20 minimum wage for CA fast food workers, including Starbucks workers, and the Fast Food Council.

We showed the industry we have something more powerful than their money:

Solidarity.

We'll keep fighting until @sbworkersunited.org's wins this contract.

Stand with workers, not billionaires.

Don’t cross the picket line.

Don’t shop at Starbucks during the strike.

Union baristas’ struggle for a fair contract is tied to the broader fight for a just society. In Santa Cruz.

In California.

Nationwide.

Starbucks baristas with @sbworkersunited.org are on strike — and they’re not alone.

Don’t shop at Starbucks while workers stand up for fairness and dignity at work.

Carl’s Jr workers are ON STRIKE due a toxic work environment in the kitchen, rat feces, low staffing levels, and retaliation against union activists.

We took action because we learned our rights through our union. That’s why we’re supporting a #FastFoodFairWork law in Santa Clara County.

Julieta Garcia, Domino's worker, spoke at day 1 of the SEIU CA Convention. Coming off a huge week for democracy, we're discussing our stories on building power the way we have for generations in California: from our workplaces to the state house and everywhere inbetween.

Democracy is union made!

Practice pickets are continuing across California today!

This morning @wgawest.bsky.social @dsa.la @californialabor.bsky.social and other community and labor allies joined workers here in Los Angeles!

This week, by installing an altar at the Santa Clara County building outside the Board of Supervisors Chambers and working on art projects both in Los Angeles and San Jose, members of CAFFWU celebrated #DiaDeMuertos

This week we marched on the boss at Yoshinoya.

Their actions are unacceptable, illegal and will not be tolerated.
This is why we're fighting for independent Know Your Rights trainings as part of the job.

Demoting workers.

Increasing workload by reducing the number of co-workers staffed with us.

Engaging in unwanted touching.

Opening up retaliatory investigations to intimidate workers.

These are illegal actions by McDonald’s and we won’t stand for it!

We won't back down.

These are the faces of those in Los Angeles who made today so historic.

We made it clear: we don't bow to kings, bosses or billionaires.

Not today.

Not ever. #NoKings

Teresa learned she has the right to fight back against wage theft through our Union - this is why the labor movement and community allies across the city have joined us to pass a #FastFoodFairWork law in Los Angeles.
October 9, 2025 at 11:19 PM
And still, she has NOT been paid for those days.
This sick time is legally protected under California law!
The bills do not wait; the rent does not wait. Teresa is about to lose her housing. No worker should be afraid of losing a roof over their head because our boss doesn't care to follow the rules

once for a medical procedure, and again when she suffered from facial paralysis. But neither of those times were paid out. That just scratches the surface…
Her brother recently died in the hospital, and she used her sick time to spend her final moments with him and then later to mourn…
October 9, 2025 at 11:19 PM
Teresa has filed claims of over $30,000 in unpaid wages and penalties against Carl's Jr.
She's been a loyal, hard-working, and responsible worker at Carls Jr. for over twenty years, often working the graveyard shift.
She has only ever used sick time for real emergencies…
