That was my thought as well. Dremel the panel to be concave, and use some thin plastic strips to recreate the banding.

But then I'm not as good at painting - and I would hate to redo such beautiful scroll work!

Gorgeous model - raising the bar again!

I picked up their 'Townsfolk' box a little while back. I was very pleased with the miniatures. Good, crisp detail, with a nice variety of sculpts. Certainly felt like I was getting my money's worth. Can't speak to any of their other products, but was satisfied with my purchase. Some pics on my page.

To me, the Darkoath and Marauders are two offshoots of the classic kit. The heroic fantasy for Age of Sigmar, and the more grounded Viking look for Old World. Interesting discussion - thanks for the chat!

The new Old World Marauders draw heavily on TV/Film presentations of Vikings, through their use of heavy furs, cloaks, and horned helmets. This seems more fitting for warriors based in the frozen chaos wastes. They are a tad generic, but I think a creative paint scheme could emphasise the 'Chaos'.

I can see the Darkoath design clearly drawing from the same 'Conan' sources, through their use of straps, bare chests, fur and loincloths. The wide use of spears also evokes an African tribal feel, and there is a chaotic flavouring based in history through the use of runestones and blood oaths.

That's a very interesting viewpoint - thank you for expanding. However I'm not sure I fully agree... (Which doesn't invalidate your views - art is wonderfully subjective!)

‘Defiance squadron’ now exists because my son wanted me to paint the spaceship blue and yellow. The aurebesh on the underside reads ‘Resist’!

I’ve also badly replaced the background using iOS tools. A pale imitation of those who do these better, but it was a fun new experience to explore.
