This moose is reminded of the AEW Gannet anecdote in Phoenix Squadron: US pilot goes to investigate a radar contact on exercise, and discovers it's a Gannet and the pilot (Fleet Air Arm) with leather helmet, goggles and full beard, is reading a book.

He reports back: "I think I've found God."

Maximum size of stones was around 2" (50mm), and weathering gradually loosened their bond with the cement. The whole building was eventually surrounded by a raised protective deck to catch rocks falling into the car park or onto unfortunate pedestrians. It was eventually re-skinned. [2/last]

They need to be more careful with naked flames, I think.

My Lords, Ladies, Gentlemen, Sheriffs, commoners, etc., please raise your glasses to the memory of Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov who, on the 26th September 1983 probably saved the world from a nuclear war.

No idea if it was deliberate or not, but someone in my old street was flying the version with ENGLAND on the horizontal red stripe UPSIDE DOWN. That takes skill and determination, I reckon. (Have photo somewhere...) <rummage> Ah! 3:O)>

🤣 Oh dear... and if all the Democrat voters get vaccinated and the Republican ones continue to believe their Glorious Leader and don't, the next Covid epidemic will make Republican candidates unelectable. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.🤣 As BSM "Shut UP!" Williams would say:

Faulty mortar shell, or mishandled one? (They have a "set back" mechanism that arms the shell when it is accelerated by the launch charge. If someone has removed the safety clip and dropped the shell on its base, it could be armed before they drop it in the tube - and explode on launch.)

"supposed" is doing some heavy lifting there. The footpath is about 5 feet wide, and visibility in both directions is limited. A45 traffic is routinely over the 40 MPH speed limit as well.
