idk...i have a lot of thoughts about snw. anyways, i would argue tos is where spock learns to be a little more of what it means to be human and in the tos movies is where he learns to balance out both of his heritages.

so if people are upset at mccoy being brought in and worried about him being fucked up, they have every right to be. they completely missed the mark with spock, and if they get him wrong, who knows what mccoy would be made out to be. sulu for that matter, too.

idc if this is supposed to be a time for when he is "exploring his human-side." it does not make sense, especially in the background of his upbringing. i also detest his behavior being seen as the only thing that would make sense or only the way of the humans.

there is always a sense of "otherness" to spock that queer, neurodivergent, and other people can identify with. nimoy even spoke about how that is what he wanted to portray and thus what drew in many people to spock's character. there seems to be none with snw spock.

besides, it is the demeanor of spock being portrayed. this is not a jab at the actor in particular, but rather the writers, producers, and the directors paving a way of spock's characterization, even if younger, to be someone entirely different. and it feels like a "male nerd's" fantasy.
