i'm sorry but i don't think it was ever about spock being "straight" and paired women in snw that people don't like snw for that reason. i feel it goes much deeper than that. i'm sure there are people like that out there where the thought is shallow but that's not what it seems like and not imo

I've made it a personal goal to stop using the term "content" when referring to media made by artists. The word implies mass-produced filler and calling someone's hard work their "content" has started to feel kinda like an insult. Like human art made strictly for quick consumption
the enthusiasm for generative AI would not have been possible without prior decades of capitalist conditioning to view works of art as products, rather than acts of culture and shared human life
I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

Hot take perhaps, but the environmental impact of AI is far worse and more worrying than the plagiarism or copyright issues... and the conversation largely being focused on the latter is honestly frustrating.

i realize the best way to let go of the anxiety in interacting with other people or in thinking that i have the worst takes/analysis of things ever is to just do it because people have said far worse and so confidently...plus i can Learn...learning is free...
