When Ella Fitzgerald couldn’t get booked at the Mocambo Club because she was Black, Monroe (at the height of her own fame) called the owner and told him if he booked Ella, she would take a front table every night.

Dementia has robbed my best friend of his mind and memory. Amy Bloom's husband would not let Alzheimer's take his personality before death. He peacefully died with assisted suicide at Dignitas in Zurich.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.
