Just read that my local Frisch’s here in NKY is closing. I’ll admit I haven’t been there in a while, I feel like it fell off but still kinda sad. Yet another business private equity drove into the ground.

My grandfather was drafted into the US Army on 11/17/1941. He was in Camp Wheeler GA completing basic training when word spread that the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. The next 3 years would send this son of German immigrants to New Zealand, Fiji, Guadalcanal, New Georgia and Bougainville.

I’ve made the tough decision to take atleast a week maybe 2 off running. My mileage goals for 2024 will take a back seat to my goals for 2025. Sigh.

It’s not just Florida and California. Property and casualty insurance across the country is going to be a major drag on family finances as we see higher and higher catastrophic claims for property and higher vehicle insurance due to repair and replacement costs.
Home insurance in areas hit by repetitive disasters is going to be the number one housing affordability issue over the next 4 years. And possibly going into the midterms.
More so than interest rates. Florida in particular is going to have huge problems.

Here in Florida we have a housing crisis of our own - developers are building affordable homes all around, but many are sitting empty because people can't afford the necessary home insurance.

Absolutely need to to go to a sky judge for instant reviews. No need to stick to a bad call when the means to correct it quickly is there.

We’ve had a bye week to self scout and repair and we don’t look willing to hit or cover. Like Lou, time to move on.
I don’t see the point in letting Lou Anarumo finish the season. This is a historically bad defense that gets worse every game. Just shocking. #bengals

Not sure how small market teams like my @officialreds.bsky.social can keep up when the same big media market teams compete against each other for top talent. We need an NFL style salary cap and revenue sharing.

Pretty amazing day of football here. Steelers/Ravens, Chiefs/Bill and then yet another Must Win Armband game for Cincinnati against the Chargers. Anyone else remember that wild card playoff game at Paul Brown???
