I'm on my sixth 1cc of this game in three days and my second one within the hour and I gotta be so real I feel like this is probably my new favorite Touhou to play, and that's so Annoying considering The Situation. But also god I love building clownshoes shot combos like this that turn out amazing.

A reference sheet with a frontal and a side profile for someone labelled as 'Number 11', a foxgirl with a slender build in a strange uniform who calls herself 'Iris'. Annotations bullet-point various parts of her design: - The firm attentiveness in her ears but the expression on her face give the impression of a sort of "Big Sister Who Had To Drop College Due To Her Crippling Anxiety Disorder" energy about her - Despite categorically being an albino, her hair and her fur share a gradient which transitions from snow-white to a deep, saturated, almost glowingly vibrant blue - Her uniform is compulsively well-kept, composed of a white outer jacket with dusty-rose-pink trimming and matching boots worn over a black blouse and skirt, worn with tights and gloves. She has an armband which matches her off-color hair on her left arm. Minimal skin is exposed overall. - Her feet are apart in a very practiced, formal stance. It is unlikely that she knows how to relax. - Her height is 5'4", which is slightly below average. Despite being 25 years old, this puts her barely an inch taller than Cassidy and over a foot shorter than Red, who are both four years younger. - The fur of her mane sheepishly pokes out from the collar of her uniform. - Her tail is very large for her size, thick and fluffy and soft. It turns blue partway down its length much like her hair. A sketch breaking down some auxiliary details of Iris' design, specifically regarding her weapon of choice, a complicated gun-spear, and a depiction of her 'fire', which takes the form of an explosive violet flower. - The spear-tip is ornate and edged, almost halberd-like in design. - Within the spear-tip is a fluted revolver cylinder. It houses six chambers. - These chambers house six 'cartridges'-- which are more like glass vials with a rubber spine and tip concealing a fine-point needle. These cartridges can be filled manually by Iris with her 'fire', extracted from her body via the needle and fired through the gun-spear. This process, while complicated, is controlled and safe; thus, it is a preferred alternative to using her fire herself in a combat situation, something which has caused her grievous injury previously in life. - The spear has two opposing firing mechanisms which must be used in tandem to use a cartridge-- a 'safety' switch that clicks either forward or backward with a thumb press, controlling forward or rearward bursts, and a 'trigger' clutched with the fingers to actually fire. - The blasts from this spear take the form of large, ethereal flower blooms that look as if made of pure fire or light. While beautiful, this causes extreme burns on living things, which have never been observed to fully heal-- and inorganic matter is more often than not obliterated entirely. - Individual petals of this 'fire'-- small enough to be harmless-- often incidentally fall around Iris throughout her day wherever she goes, like an indigo sakura bloom, especially if she is physically exerting herself.

Annotations bullet-point various parts of her design: - Her teeth are sharp and her mouth is almost constantly split into a Cheshire grin - Her hair and fur are grey in coloration, except with striking jet-black stripes in erratic patterns throughout - With long and skinny limbs and standing at 5'9" in height, her proportions make her unusual to look at - Her stomach is sunken and her ribs and joints are plainly visible - She's in a (stolen) pair of men's shorts, wearing them backwards so as to use the fly as a hole to let her tail through. Unlike Red, she keeps them drawn at most times. - From head to toe, her skin is marred in unsightly scarring in all sorts of places, especially her hands due to her insane choice of weapon. - Walks around barefoot, even though it's such a pain in the ass to draw and Kiri is so brave for committing to this design choice despite how hard it is to draw feet without them looking weird A sketch breaking down some auxiliary details of Jade's design, including a depiction of her thorns and a breakdown of the weapon she carries around. - She wields the two halves of an industrial ventilation fan as if they were double-sided swords, gripping the bracket slot between the blades as if it were a handle - The blades show visible signs of corrosion and weathering of unknown origin - Both blades can be conjoined together into their 'normal' shape and either swung or thrown, as if it were a fuma shuriken - Despite all laws of physics that might stand in the way, Jade is especially adept at throwing this piece of shit and having it somehow rebound its way back to her. This is probably her most impressive talent. - At the bottom is a small sketch of a segment of Jade's 'Thorns', a strange ability she has to project large, dexterous lengths of vines made of some kind of energy - The vines are predominantly black in coloration, but have an eerie and unnatural greenish glow around them - These thorns can grow from Jade freely at will, moving like tendrils and crackling dangerously like electricity - Despite their ethereal and intangible nature, they have the useful quality of being able to either attack or grasp physical things or pass through them cleanly - The touch of these vines is corrosive, dissolving matter and draining the life from anything they touch

They're visibly well-maintained and look significantly more expensive than everything else she has going on appearance-wise, implying they might be a hand-me-down of some sort.

I know her 'swords' are mentioned while I didn't actually draw any of them, but... part of that is because the idea is, that ring stores So Many that basically any sword you could possibly draw her with is basically canon

... But her favorite is the fur-trim buster sword, of course.

This is because she's not normal. - Her hair is dyed a dark red specifically on the inside (whenever she's not powered up at least) - When in her Red Riding Hood state, her hair and fur ignite like fire, streaming together in a supernaturally bright glowing red - When her hair burns this way, it literally flakes off in embers like a fire-- said embers then dynamically change over time into the shape of tiny glowing red butterflies, which are something of a calling card of hers - The way her hair and fur change color in such a completely uniform way, and with the way they glow, it comes together in a way that literally makes her look as if she's wearing a hooded cloak... hence the name.

I spent a good chunk of yesterday trying to push for as many of the itemless clears I didn't do as possible

My new total is 60/75 scenes cleared itemless. I think I'm satisfied. Here's a complete list of what I *didn't* do, because half of them are slot machines. The rest are all just Hell.
A complete list of cards I haven't cleared itemless 4-3 Butterfly Sign "Flower, Butterfly, Wind, Moon" It's just very cluttered and random. I can probably do it eventually but it's gonna be a lot of doing., 5-2 Koto Sign "Ame no Norigoto" An absolute hell mess. No idea if I will ever pull this one off. Would be the hardest card in the game before Twelve Second Nightmare without the addition of random drifting note bullets., 6-5 Fang Sign "Chewing Satisfaction" This is a slot machine. Doing this itemless is literally 'navigate this relatively simple pattern to the spot that's safe roughly 85% of the time, and then hold down-right-shift and presume you don't get hit by a random laser, repeat 4 times'. I gave this a fair shake. I will not be continuing to do so I think. Absolute fucking shame that I can't clear Momiji's card itemless but at least it means she kicked my ass., 7-4 Snake Sign "Bind Snake Come On" This is not Touhou. This is an arcade quarter muncher shmup on ketamine. Like this one is hard to clear with items, there's just so much going on at all times and it makes my head feel like it's splitting in half., 8-6 "Humans Are Nice!" Again the problem is just how random it is. The men march in random directions and that means you get crowded out super easily, but you can't wander too far away or else you lose damage and it just becomes a mess really easily. Given the choice between going super slow and risking more failure over time versus being dying a lot trying to stay under her and end the card, I would rather uhhh Not Even Bother thank you, 8-7 Shining Needle "Oni-Slaying, Eye-Stabbing Needle" The fact that I remembered this one from having seen it one time half a decade ago should speak for itself here, 9-1 Onbashira "Rising Onbashira" This one feels like I'm having a seizure. it's so unbearably fast and it doesn't even look that consistent for the trouble, like you have to snap decide if she fired odds or evens and gfbgf 10-2 "My Way Is That Of Heaven!" I do not want to be trapped in Miko's history class for literally ten years. Like the dodge isn't even that bad, it's just a faster version of Youmu's, but you'd need to do fucking 10 loops of it to clear itemless and girliepop I simply do not care., 10-3 "Sky of Scarlet Perception Of All Youkaikind" Even thinking about capturing this one makes my stomach hurt., 10-4 "Twelve Second Nightmare" You know how if you hover over a youtube video's seekbar, you can see the most replayed parts of the video displayed like a little graph? Please consult the video I posted of Jaimers' itemless clear compilation and hover over the seekbar. Do you see the colossal fucking mountain towards the middle of Day 10? That is people wanting to see one of the only recorded itemless clears of Twelve Second Nightmare that existed for a decade., 10-5 "Impossible Danmaku Barrier" got damn that Yukari werent kidding that danmaku barrier really do be impossible, 10-6 "Eyes of Brahma" I have captured Milky Way Magic on Hard in UFO. I did my time with Byakuren Curvy Laser Horseshit. I'm not doing that again., 10-7 "Seventeen Article Constitution Bombs" These are the trans wrongs they warn you about in the bible I think. I genuinely don't think there's a strat here beyond 'hope you don't get hit'. Everything about this is full random there is no logic or reason here just the cold and unthinking computer telling you that you died., 10-9 "Duck, Duck, Bat!" This was second-place for deaths in my whole run with items., 10-10 "Casebook of Luck, Persistence, and Perserverence" man I'd rather just prog PCB Phantasm than do the harder version of One Part of it

I dunno why I went and did this before Impossible Spell Card, but I mean. It was still a fun time. Not quite a perfect scorecard but I'm happy with it.

Only bombs were Doremy 2 (I just don't like that one), Murderous Lilies (which is hard) and Pristine Danmaku Hell (which is bad)
