Israel only dares to commit genocide because they have the USA in their corner. IMO, that's why nobody's acted to stop them. Fear of reprisals. Fear of starting a worldwide conflict (especially with Putin & Co ready to jump on Europe)'
If it weren't for the USA, Israel would already be toast.

Accused of being woke? I say "Thanks for the compliment. I am, indeed, awake to the suffering around me and compassionate about it. If YOU're not, of course, it means you're self-centered and don't care about making the world a better place. You're part of the problem. I'm part of the solution."

At this point, the only thing that can put a stop to the genocide Israel is perpetrating is a popular revolution in Israel.
Their government won't stop. The world doesn't dare intervening. The israeli people are the only ones who can stop Netanyahu.
Rise up! For Israel and for Palestine.

Meanwhile, Trump keeps signing executive orders to disenfranchise and criminalise the most vulnerable members of society.
Can the US, can the world, sustain another 42 months of this without imploding?

I'll be performing in a play, here in Ireland, next Tuesday and Wednesday, titled AmericaNO, written by a Brazilian student as part of his Masters degree.
My character? Gabriel, a resident of French Guiana who learns at the very end that his partner, a Florida Uni lecturer, has been taken by ICE.

I suggest electing this cutie as the next POTUS.
It doesn't lie, doesn't cheat, doesn't betray and is a better golfer than Trump.

After a small technical hiccup that delayed its launch, the YouTube Channel of The Peace Talks Project is finally coming online next week.
Because the cause of peace needs every voice behind it.

Here is a quote from the historical speech of Victor Hugo that will be featured in the first video.

The situation in the US is the culmination of a rot that started decades ago and which, since 9/11 and the world turning again to far right ideologies, festered into the Trump abces.
Empty it! Then cleanse and disinfect your democracy.

Resist at all cost. Revolt if you must. Posterity demands it.

What is happening in the USA made me think of those powerful words by G'Kar in Babylon 5 S2E20 'The long twilight struggle'.

The first part of this clip shows two of the results of war: surrender and resistance. The second part shows the path to peace.

As an actor, I see it coming indeed, sadly. It's already happening in voice work where some actors have lost most or all of their income due to being replaced by AI. Producers want 'cheap', plus AI doesn't care about fair wages and all the issues actors could have to deal with on a film set.

Amazing! This fish (Archerfish) has evolved a remarkable ability to shoot jets of water with pinpoint accuracy at its prey.

Destroying is easy. 1 person can do huge damage. Its power is an illusion. It isolates you, doesn't feed your soul and you always need more. It's the Dark Side of the Force.

True power comes for working together. It's harder. It needs constant work, but its rewards are limitless and shared by all.

True! Many people talk of the pandemic in the past but Covid hasn't gone away. New variants, each worse than the last still surface on a regular basis. People still catch it, get long Covid, and some die from it.
People may have lost their stomach for caution but we shouldn't delude ourselves.
To every person who asked me why I was off work and I answered “Covid” and they said “Oh I thought Covid was over”

NO, IT IS NOT!!!!!!

This #DisabilityPrideMonth, we’re reminded that lived experience matters.

In his latest opinion piece for @artsprofessional.co.uk, @andrew-miller.bsky.social explains how that phrase can be more confusing than comforting for disabled people.

Nothing is simpler than truth.
If an action is divisive, it shouldn't be followed, no matter how convinced or passionate one is about it.
If it leads to more unity, it should be, even if it comes at a cost.
Sounds simplistic, naive even, but that simple binary compass is the key to a better world.

Beware WeTransfer new T&C, friends!
By using them, you now give them permission to re-use whatever content you sent through them, make money out of it, feed it to generative AI, etc. All for free.
As an actor, I have used it to send confidential auditions in the past. Never again. Not for anything

Peace will never be built by people throwing dirt at each other across a great divide, each enclosed in their own bubble. Hard as it may be, and as justified as anger and resistance to tyranny are, and they are, it is vital that we keep the bridges of communication open, or all hope is lost.

Violence should only ever be used to defend yourself and your loved ones, only as little as is needed and only for as long as is needed but, as much as I am against violence, this is where it has its place.
The same goes with anger and here, Mandy Patinkin has every right to be fuming.
Mandy Patinkin on Gaza: "How Could It Be Done To Your Ancestors, And Then You Turn Around And Do It To Someone Else?"
Actor Mandy Patinkin offered his perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during an appearance on the New York Times "Interview" podcast: MANDY PATINKIN: I was in Philadelphia getting ready to do a concert with Patty, my dear friend Patty Leone. And I go up to the hotel room. Katherine was in the hotel room, and the movie The Princess Bride was on. She was watching it, and just as I walked into the room, it was that final scene in the movie where Inigo is sitting by the window with the Man in Black. And the Man in Black asks Inigo, "Would he like to be the next Dread Pirate Roberts?" And the Inigo Montoya actor--who was me, at 36 years old--said these words, which I did not really know what they meant, that William Goldman wrote, which I think are the singular greatest words I've ever read. And those words are, were, and always will be: "You know, I have been in the revenge business so long, now that it's over, I do not know what to do with the rest of my life." And I ask Jews all over the world to consider what this man, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his right-wing government is doing to the Jewish people all over the world. They are endangering not only the State of Israel--which I care deeply about and want to exist--but they are endangering the Jewish population all over the world. He is the most dangerous thing, not just since October 7th. It has been a deeply troubled situation, and he is endangering the Jews by endangering those in Gaza. And to watch what is happening--for the Jewish people to allow this to happen to children and civilians of all ages in Gaza, for whatever reason--is unconscionable and unthinkable. And I ask you, Jews everywhere, all over the world, to spend some time alone and think: is this acceptable and sustainable? How could it be done to you and your ancestors, and then you turn around and do it to someone else? Here's the full interview:
