I don't really find Matt Yglesias as bad as a lot of yinz apparently do. I just disagree with him about a bunch of stuff. Important stuff, I grant. But still. In terms of, like, how evil or annoying I think people are, he doesn't really feature very highly at all for me.

When will liberals stop believing the “losers of modernization” myth?! Trump voters are much less “excluded” in any meaningful sense than Democratic voters or non-voters. Trump voters are mostly “excluded” from an imaginary dominant “woke” culture, created by a far-right media machine.
One of the most powerful forces in politics is the urge to destroy that from which you are excluded. This is why, in the highly unequal US, support for Trump holds up even as he trashes everything that makes a good society. Equality is key to preventing fascism.
