The event honours Rita Hester whose murder on Nov 28th '98 kicked off the “Remembering Our Dead” project and San Francisco vigil in '99. Rita’s murder (like most anti-trans murder cases) has yet to be solved

Rita Hester was a transgender woman who was killed in her apartment in Boston in 1998. Though her death was the inception behind the Transgender Day of Remembrance, an international movement, her death has yet to be solved. Rita was described as ebullient (cheerful and full of energy), larger-than-life, a phenomenon, and a fixture in her community. While we celebrate TDOR, we cannot forget to say her name.

4 frame comics, where we see scenes from the 1936 olympic games in Berlin : the Berlin stadium, 5 women holding hula hoops in the shape of the olympics logo, athletes doing an obstacle course. the last frame is the 2028 Los Angeles olympic logo. the text reads : the olympics have seen various forms of gender policing since the games of 1936 in nazi germany. it was introduced as a way to enforce the gender binary by disqualifying people with inter- sex characteristics or atypical gender expression. naked parades in front of a jury, gynecological inspections, chromosomal testing, certifica- tions that only richer countries could issue... these were all attempts at gender policing by the olympic committee between 1936 and 1996. one after the other, these practices were outlawed. they were all found to be flawed, misleading, humiliating, discrimi- natory, racist, misogynistic. since 2003, strict guidelines have allowed intersex and trans women to participate. despite 20 years of inclusion, there has only been one trans woman who competed, not winning any medal. yet, we just learned that the I.o.C. was looking into bringing back gender policing to ban intersex & trans athletes, in time for the nazi germany olympics of 2028. oops, I mean united states.

Charlie Kirk never cared about debates.

What he was organizing were flash mobs where his supporters rallied at colleges to create ideal conditions for drama. 2nd frame, someone is speaking at a mic while people with red caps are holding phones up. text reads: Students who dared to stand up to him were facing a sea of hostile faces. Když dnes na zastupitelstvu Prahy 1 označila starostka palestinskou vlajku 🇵🇸 za "vlajku teroristů", pochopila jsem, že ona hlavně věci nechápe. Následně jsem se na ni a na zbytek radních obrátila v interpelaci.
Interpelace zastupitele členkám a členům rady 16. 9. 2025 Paní starostko, která lžete o palestinské vlajce a ponižujete tak veřejně palestinský lid, který označujete plošně za teroristy. Nakonec se už nedivím, že ve svém omezeném vidění světa nemáte problém hanobit i městskou část tím, že na budově radnice máte vyvěšenou vlajku, která je dnes bohužel více než cokoliv jiného symbolem pokračující genocidy. Mnozí z vás tady vidí v Izraeli především zemi lidí, kteří přežili holokaust a zaslouží si tak vlastní stát. Nevidíte nebo nechcete vidět ale tu část, že celý projekt židovského státu stojí na kolonizaci země, která patřila jiným lidem. Ignorujete, že palestinský lid je vykreslován v nejčernějších barvách a předsudcích, jak to před několima chvílemi předvedla starostka. A asi jste si nevšimli, že v posledních letech Izrael páchá masové vraždění civilistů, bombarduje ženy a děti bez rozdílu, plošně ničí města v Gaze a netají se svou touhou Gazu vystěhovat a ukrást. Jak by vám něco jako izraelské etnické čistky mohlo utéct? Jsou toho plná média, a to i v Česku. Podle všeho vám to neuteklo, ale dobrovolně jste se rozhodli tuto část skutečnosti nevidět. Je to nepohodlné použít vlastní rozum a srdce proti převládajícímu povýšenectví a aroganci. Genocida je ale opravdu odporná, zlá a krvavá záležitost, ke které se politik na Praze 1 v žádném případě hlásit nemůže. .. atd.
