Every couple weeks, Josh Allen seemingly achieves something unprecedented, matching or passing top-shelf HOFers like Peyton Manning, Otto Graham, Earl Campbell, Jim Brown.

Is Allen being wasted?

They have an 8% chance of winning the division they've won five straight years and are tracking toward not hosting a playoff game.
Are the Bills regressing? They’re 7-4, still in contention for the Division and Josh is 5th in MVP odds. Have the Bills ever been much better than this over the past 5 seasons?

Josh Allen has historic postseason passing stats, more rushing TDs than Earl Campbell, highest YPC of anyone with >70 TDs (0.3 over Jim Brown).

And the Bills are regressing. I talked to PFHOF voters to ask if Allen's greatness is being wasted:

Sabres bounce back with blowout win over Blackhawks. How will they respond now?
The Sabres helped themselves with 9-3 drubbing of the Blackhawks, but the challenge now for them is handling it the right way.

There are a couple maxims about wounded animals.

The first claims how dangerous they are. The other pertains to how quickly predators will sniff them out for the kill.

In the span of five days, we saw a desperate Josh Allen thrive and then get slaughtered.

It’s also a game of bruises, and his quarterback collected a bunch.

The last time a Bills quarterback lost so many yards on sacks was 1984.

Before that? You must go back to the LBJ administration.

The Sabres were “soft” and “casual” in a 6-2 loss to the last place Flames. Games like that make it difficult to take them seriously as anything more than a playoff outsider. That and other thoughts from familiar and predictable loss:
