This isn’t promoting more prescribing.
Risperidone should remain a last resort for severe, distressing symptoms.
But since it’s still used, we need clear evidence to guide safer decisions and interpret outcomes accurately.

We expected stroke risk to rise mainly in those with CVD.
Instead, risperidone increased risk across all groups.
Absolute risk was highest in those with CVD, so if stroke occurs post-treatment, it’s likely due to vascular history, not just the drug.
