Josie has a beard, just like her cousin Santa Byrne.

Just finished my second annual photo session with my little cousin Josie, who just turned two. Hope this tradition continues for many years. I love playing Santa, especially for my family.

First fundraiser for the show was today. Time to settle my brain for a long winter’s nap.

Latest mystery book club read. I really liked this at the beginning, but kind of lost my connection with the lead character as the story progressed. Ultimately found the ending disappointing. That said, I’d likely read more from this author, if she writes more fiction.

Haven’t been grocery shopping in a couple of weeks. It’s amazing how much the prices on some items have gone up.

I got cast in the Christmas show. First time onstage in 35 years. We filmed promos today, and my first rehearsal is Thursday.

I can’t be trusted to go to a bookstore. Went to buy a gift, left with 4 new books for myself.

I find this offensive, since it completely cuts out the man who truly made this possible. It should be called the Trump-Epstein Ballroom.
Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!

He’s not even the mayor yet, and he’s already driving criminals out of NYC. Congratulations, Mr. Mamdani!

TIL that my dad studied theatre at the same school as Steve Martin and Diane Keaton. Now I need to find out if they overlapped. Surely he would have said if he went to school with them, right?

Mom made apple cake and apple pie, so I turned the scraps into apple juice. Then I tried a new way of pickling onions using just lime juice. Curious to see how it turns out.

Just finished my first audition since 1990. I think it went pretty well.

Latest read - Never Whistle at Night. A collection of indigenous dark fiction/horror stories. There were a bunch of really good, scary stories. A very good collection, and it led me to add several of the authors to my TBR list.

A local theatre is doing a new Christmas musical and needs a Santa. I was asked to audition. I haven’t been onstage since college. Anyway, if you feel a great disturbance in the force on Tuesday, it’s just me trying to recite a monologue and maybe singing.

Good god, what was I thinking?

Nearly all of my gardening failed this year, but I did finally get a pretty cosmos.

Best part of today was getting to hang out with friends and talk theatre. I’ve missed that.

More goodies from the Broadway Flea Market.

Another happy find at the Broadway Flea Market. A copy of Doric Wilson’s play Forever After. Signed by Doric. While I’ve seen several of his plays, I’m not familiar with this one, so I’m looking forward to reading it.
