After 40 days of a shutdown, the Senate deal does nothing to address the cuts to or cost of Americans’ healthcare.

That’s unacceptable.

I’ve been ready to work on and vote for a deal that ends the shutdown and makes life better for Oregonians, but that’s just not what this is.

We’re over a month into the government shutdown – I want to hear from you.

Last night, a final decision confirmed what we’ve known all along: we don’t need or want the President’s troops in Portland.

It’s time for him to follow the law and stop spreading lies about our city.

I’m proud that Oregon has taken action to make sure everyone can put food on the table this month.

Feeding our families shouldn’t be a partisan issue.

The President is playing political games with people’s lives, and we won’t stand for it.

The Republican shutdown is about to cause mass delays and cancellations at PDX.

I’m calling on the state to pay our TSA workers and air traffic controllers – Oregonians shouldn’t suffer because of Republicans’ inability to fund the government.

Yesterday, I spoke on a US Chamber housing panel about how we can work together to make homeownership a reality for everyone.

We don’t have 20 years to figure out how to house our kids – we need to figure that out now.

The government shutdown is having devastating impacts across the state, including on search and rescue operations.

I spoke with Fred about how this is impacting his ability to do his job as a 911 dispatcher ⬇️

People from across Oregon have been writing to my office concerned about their healthcare costs going up.

I'll continue fighting to reverse cuts in Republicans' trash budget and to make healthcare more accessible, not less.

Groceries, utilities, rent, gas, you name it – they’re all more expensive under this Administration.

I’m in Congress to lower costs and make life better for my constituents. Speaker Johnson needs to call back the House and do the work.

This weekend, I met with local AFSCME leaders and food bank staff to discuss how the shutdown is impacting their ability to support our communities.

Republicans need to come to the table – Oregonians can't afford for this to continue.

SNAP allows students like Michaela to get out of “survival mode,” and focus on their education.

The President needs to stop playing political games with people’s lives and fully fund this essential program.

Each week the shutdown drags on, our economy is losing $15 billion and millions of people are seeing their healthcare costs rise.

Americans aren’t looking for their government to break records – Republicans need to come back from vacation and get to work.

Oregonians are seeing price increases of hundreds, and even thousands, of dollars to their healthcare costs because of Republicans' trash budget.

That's unacceptable.

As of yesterday, Oregonians are paying more for their health insurance and SNAP benefits aren't going out.

That’s not what putting the American people first looks like. I’m calling on my Republican colleagues to come to the table and get a deal done to end this shutdown.
November 3, 2025 at 1:38 AM
Today marks the start of open enrollment. As a result of the Republicans' trash bill, our health insurance payments are skyrocketing. That's the last thing we need right now.

That’s why I joined @afscme.bsky.social in speaking out to fight for affordable healthcare for Oregonians.

Law enforcement officers are supposed to make our communities safer – not more dangerous.

Yesterday, I joined my colleagues in demanding accountability for federal law enforcement officers who are breaking the law and using excessive force.

That’s unacceptable and un-American.
