Comic author and artist Joanne Kwan (b.1990) died on April 3. Kwan wrote Secunda, Shifting Lanes and the graphic novels Demon House, and Erie Waters. Kwan also did freelance work, designing covers for other independent authors.

I don't know how 'normal' people feel about this, but if a book has an AI cover, then there's absolutely NO chance in hell that I'm reading it.

My most humbling experience as a fantasy writer was when I thought I’d figured out the perfect names for things that couldn’t be mispronounced in a way I couldn’t predict… but then on a VC I mentioned the land of Gegenes… only to have a friend say “I thought it was guh-JEAN-is.” … Like the PANTS?!

Specific character types are sometimes more difficult for me to pin down. Usually the ones less prone to sarcasm, the forthright or stoic ones, take me longer to get a feel for. And it’s VERY frustrating if they don’t feel *right* next to other characters. #WeeknightWriters

Just found #FirstDraftFall, so I’m jumping in a bit late… I’ve had the last two days off work & zero drafted my first 10 chapters!
