Salvation is a gift which can be rejected by those who deny what God has said.

Do you put this social mission above the actual one whom you are committing the offense against? The social teachings are secondary to the one you are sinning against. His earthly followers followed Him because He showed them how they would be reconciled with the God.

Also, how is this denial of the 8th Commandment. It is disputing public teaching. The ELCAs many bishop have stated many times that they subscribe to the Book of Concord in so far as it comports with Scripture and the Scripture “contains” the Word of God. Both non-Lutheran positions.

The denial of the resurrection is a disagreement? It is heretical and maybe a felicitous inconsistency. But not, it is not Christian doctrine.

Spoken like a true denier of every commandment. The ELCA denies sin and whatever else the church body doesn’t like in the Bible

LOL. Your you can make up whatever understanding of Christianity that you want and seem to have but it’s actually has a basis in something called the Bible.

bsky.app/profile/twob... - denial of the resurrection of the body is a heresy of the Saducees. And salvation is based on trust in Christ as Savior and His words. The parable of the vineyard workers would help in understanding the timing of salvation.
Correct. I was literally taught by a LCMS pastor that both Hitler and a mass murderer who converted on his deathbed would be found in heaven, but a kind old lady who denied the resurrection of the body would go to hell. Problem of evil is a lot worse when THAT is considered to be perfect justice.

bsky.app/profile/mosh... - Christianity is not based on “social views”
My understanding from my wife who grew up Lutheran is there's the good synode (ELCA) and the bad synod (LCMS) when it comes to social views.

ELCA holds to a quatenus subscription to the AC. Which is to say “in so far as” which in practice means the ELCA takes from the AC what it wants and ignores what it doesn’t.
