So cute.. I have been waiting to see the aurora, and these bunnies are following me around. When I move they move too.

I got this book for a friend who calls Lucille Clifton a "heart poet."

I saw that the 1st poem lists different ways to refer to light. I think my friend needs this right about now. I do too. I know another friend who does too. I just bought 3 copies.

Sharing this just in case you need this too.

Resistance and resilience...

(The more I learn about Richard Hunt, the more I am in awe of who he was... this is from the LUMA exhibit in Chicago, Freedom in Form, which goes through November I think)

This is the only painting of mine that uses this color palette. I want to use these colors more.

(Painting is therapeutic. Something healing, and it makes me happy. ❤️)

Also my ghostly figure paintings or the glimmering memories ones (not shown)...

This 1st one shown is abt an island where some who were not cared for in life travel to after death. An island where they will be fed, sheltered, cared for. It shares similar colors w/ 2nd one.

I usually group my paintings based on theme or color. My 5 water lilies theme, which I do when I am unsure what to paint.

The 5 flowers each represent different things--love, faith, hope, etc. These were pandemic paintings. Ideas to hold onto during rough times...

Something a friend just shared with me that puts things into perspective.. I love this a lot.

Hello! Things have been serious near Chicago, which has caused some anxiety. I painted this koi pond w/ thousands of flower petals on the top of the water.

It's not pretty, but I was able to get my anxieties out by poking the canvas thousands of times to make the petals. It made me feel better, lol

In late 2019, I donated a whole bunch of supplies to a school on the south side... I don't fully recall the name... something black pearl. I might make another art donation but maybe something more local to me.

Making tangible things is healing.

I also donated $100 just now. Thank you for bringing the organization to people's attention.

Groceries are so expensive these days... I am definitely feeling it personally. I think the work this org is doing is vital.

Can confirm re: the dogs, at least these two. I had the pleasure of standing next to these two during the local rally just north of Chicago, and they LOVED it and loved the attention they got as well.

Actually, assessing the amount of work I have to do today. Not going to the lake, but keeping this in my thoughts to be calm today...

Will be watching the sunrise before my workday. This from earlier in the month (I cannot keep track of days anymore).

Good morning.

From the children's book An Asian American A to Z by Cathy Linh Che & Kyle Lucia Wu... something I wish more Asian Americans taught their kids

"...Asian Americans everywhere owe much of our fight
to the brave ones who first stood up
for civil rights."
