I work w/high school students taking courses for college credit and I've gotten into the habit of asking guidance counselors if the students will, actually, ask for help BEFORE they are underwater because many of them believe they won't get it.

It's weirdly ambiguous. Which, you know, not every review's going to be perfect, I get that, but I wish if he meant it was refreshing or good or a positive difference, he would have been clear about it.

I have never before seen someone WANT Surf Dracula and I cannot escape the thought that the queerness of the show is a factor here. (Though that may be uncharitable.)

"this tv show could be a completely different show" yeah, cool, don't care, this show isn't doing that.
