Ron DeSantis's invocation of "CCP" during the debate made me curious when this shorthand for China became common on the right. If we use Fox News as an indicator, it was uncommon for years — until the pandemic.

Imagine a gov that cared as much about child care as it did sending depleted uranium and cluster bombs to Ukraine.
The end of child care funding next month is going to absolutely nuke the industry, forcing a projected 70,000 day care centers out of business. 3.2 million kids are expected to lose care, leading to an annual *$9 billion in lost wages* for parents:

So it is horrific/ironic that all these new technologies that are supposed to disrupt/democratise/decentralise/save us (blockchain, LLMs, large data algorithms) actually consume so much electricity and water for their servers that they are accelerating environmental disasters.
