…Any Republican saying they are different is lying. And Dems need to start acting like it. Tie these bills to all GOP politicians, supporters of the bill itself or not. Because even if they are opposed, voting for them emboldens and produces these bills, so there’s no practical difference.

And a big part of why they didn’t lose is because many Republicans in swing districts know how to come off as “reasonable” and win what are (or should be) close seats. Gillespie, Sparks, Baum, Burkhart, etc.

Because, after acting fools and causing statewide outrage in ‘23 and ‘24, not a single Republican lost their seat in 24’ in Tennessee at the Federal or State level. Put another way, the lesson they took from 24’ is that there are no consequences for them and they can pass whatever they want…

…Leadership is sponsoring an unconstitutional bill to ban undocumented kids from public schools. One legislator is banning doctors from asking battered spouse if there are guns in their house. Another wants to ban pride festivals?
