Theyre acting as if this type of discrimination wasn’t also targeted at lesbians in the past. They banned and harassed lesbians from sports like this. Trans women had no chance back then too. It’s never ‘polite questions’ it’s harassing people out of spaces with invasive questions

The ‘squatting mafia’ sounds more like displaced locals who cannot afford homes while the area that could be a sustainable village is just hotels and holiday homes than offer no housing and no good paying jobs. Sounds like tourist industry exploited the area and is dealing with outcomes of that
But, as they say, news waits for no one, and we've been invited out with one of Tenerife's most notorious figures famous for his aggressive approach to removing squatters. It's become a growing problem on the Canary Islands, as a housing crisis takes grip of the islands. That's something we heard again and again when speaking with those inside the various occupied buildings we visited; that the minimum wage jobs that much of the tourism industry offers were no match for high rental fees.

Gill was first elected as an MEP for the now defunct UK Independence Party in 2014 and rose through its ranks. He led UKIP in Wales and was also elected to the Welsh Parliament in 2016. Gill played a prominent role in the Brexit campaign in Wales and was one of only two MEPs who followed Farage from UKIP into the Brexit Party in 2019. He had previously told the BBC he had responsibility for The Brexit Party's group of MEPs as its "head of delegation". He said that meant he told them where to sit and would "keep them in line" His WhatsApp chat history reveals that by this point, Voloshyn had helped prepare two of Gill's contributions to parliamentary debates in December 2018 and March 2019.

Poem that struck me today. Seventh Circle of Earth by Ocean Vuong.
Seventh circle of earth by Ocean Vuong. Poem opens with “On 27 April 2011, a gay couple, Michael Humphrey and Clayton Capshan, was murdered by immolation in their home in Dallas, Texas. Dallas Voice” Next a mostly blank page with numbers 1,2,3 covering it. Positioned as if there is an invisible poem. The following is in what I assume is the footnotes; “1. As if my finger, / tracing your collarbone / behind closed doors, / was enough / to erase myself. To forget / we built this house knowing / it won't last. How / does anyone stop / regret / without cutting / off his hands? / Another torch 2. streams through / the kitchen window, / another errant dove. / It's funny. I always knew / I'd be warmest beside / my man. / But don't laugh. Understand me / when I say I burn best / when crowned / with your scent: that earth-sweat / & Old Spice I seek out each night / the days 3. refuse me. / Our faces blackening / in the photographs along the wall. / Don't laugh. They’re going to re write human rights and make trans people, refugees and abortions a crime globally. Far right are moving more and more to global domination
Other policies by foreign governments which US embassies will be told to categorise as human rights infringements include: • Subsidising abortions, "as well as the total estimated number of annual abortions" • Gender-transition surgery for children, defined by the state department as "operations involving chemical or surgical mutilation... to modify their sex". • Facilitating mass or illegal migration "across a country's territory into other countries". • Arrests or "official investigations or warnings for speech" - a reference to the Trump administration's opposition to internet safety laws adopted by some European countries to deter online hate speech.

The new instructions also deem countries that subsidise abortion or facilitate mass migration as infringing on human rights. The changes, which the State Department says are intended to stop "destructive ideologies", have been condemned by rights campaigners who argue the Trump administration is redefining long-established human rights principles to pursue ideological goals.

there should be a such thing as a medical detective. you should be able to hire a doctor to figure out what the fuck is going on with you come hell or high water by consulting whatever specialists they can get their hands on, connecting your constellation of symptoms, etc, instead of 10000 different doctors for every distinct bone in ur body that all just kinda go "dang that sucks idk" when you present with more than one fucking symptom

The scene where Richards and his two fellow 'runners' are presented with their Running Man uniforms was filmed in the changing rooms of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in London, England. Whilst doing a promotional interview in the UK for the film, director Edgar Wright said that whilst filming the scene, Richard Graysmark, the assistant director, deliberately wore a replica shirt of Arsenal Football Club (Tottenham's longstanding bitter local rivals) as "...an act of rebellion".
