Yesterday I was out wearing my Squishable Baphomet backpack, which was a bday present, from months ago

An elderly lady eagerly asked me if it was a Pokemon, & was disappointed when I said it was not

A Squishable brand mini backpack, in the shape of Squishable Baphomet. Baphomet is the winged goat-headed deity which represents seeking truth, justice, and equality. It has a third eye which is a star, and flames coming from the crown chakra, between its goat horns. Its eyes gleam with cosmic truth and universal knowledge. Baphomet is most often associated with the Church of Satan, and is regarded to be an evil entity, but it's not at all, in Pagan mythology. Because the truth will set you FREE. The Squishable Baphomet is completely adorable too. It makes me happy whenever I see it or carry it. I do find "best friends" in objects, thanks to the neurodivergent tendency to assign emotion, sentience, or energy to inanimate things. I love this lil critter. It's so dang cute! It also does resemble a Pokemon, sort of anyway.

My cats Jane The Magnificent and Tarzan the Maine Coon, laying next to each other on a sage green embroidered bedspread. Jane is a sliver grey and cream orange tortoiseshell tabby, and Tarzan is a grey and white tuxedo coat extra superfloof. The perspective is from straight on, so the photo shows only their heads, shoulders, and front legs. Tarzan is a grey and white tuxedo coat extra superfloof, sleeping with his head away from camera, splayed across a beige chaise next to the window seat. Jane is a silver grey and cream orange tortoiseshell tabby sleeping on a pet cushion on the window seat, facing the other direction away from Tarzan. The double window is painted yellow gold, and has yellow gold sheer curtains with a swirl vine pattern, open to one side to allow the cats a view outside. My cats Jane The Magnificent and Tarzan the Maine Coon, sitting at opposite ends of a credenza, which I use as their feeding station. Both cats are hunched over glass bowls, eating their dinner of wet senior cat food. Both cats are grey but Jane is a shorthair tortoiseshell tabby, and Tarzan is a grey and white tuxedo superfloof. The credenza is flanked by 2 grey velvet shabby chic dining chairs. A single window in the center has sheer yellow curtains draped open to Jane’s side. The room is painted pale yellow. The credenza is an antique and well worn, in an art deco motif from the 1930’s. The cats are like book ends in symmetry to the scene.

Endless fascination with light, shapes, shadows, and colors

Sometimes it’s the little things
My kitchen windows. Plants and plant starts and some knick knacks line the windowsill, which is painted a sunny yellow. Black tile acts s a back splash behind the sink and faucet. Sheer yellow gold swirl curtains filter the late afternoon sunlight to a warm tone which makes the scene look cozy. A yellow plastic snake and a disco ball planter hang from above, holding houseplants. A few tiny Halloween tchotchke and red peppers add some orange and red in the golden glow.

Tangled up in bleue

Oops I dyed it again
An incomplete, filtered side selfie, showing my long blue hair in a side bun with a helix curl dropped out, under my headphones. I'm wearing a black top and only a small portion of my eye can be seen, as the frame does not include nose or mouth. The colors are intensified for illustration, but my hair is freshly dyed a blue topaz. The bluish-grey shaved sides just barely peek out from under the headphones at my temple. My long hair is waist length but I almost always have it up in a bun or braids. I am a Caucasian GenX NB AFAB. Blue hair is my favorite, though I don't give much of a shit about fashion anymore. My fashion is survival. Fuck long covid!

A window seat with a pet cushion and an unseen pet safe heating pad under it, which my cats love for their old bones in autumn and winter. My cat Jane The Magnificent is curled up in her favorite spot. I call this area the window boudoir since the cats sleep there so much. The window is painted a warm yellow gold and sheer swirl gold patterned curtains are open to one side to allow a view. It’s rainy and grey outside. Peak Portland weather. Jane is a silver grey and cream orange tortoiseshell tabby with emerald green eyes. A jade plant in a square pot is next to her cushion. Jane’s fur reflects light in a silvery outline due to her extra thick double undercoat, which also makes her luxuriously soft to touch. She’s softer than cashmere.

A plush Killer Shrew, made out of purple velvet fabric and scraps of plush fur, lace, and ribbon. Long white fangs are made of felt. A bendable wire tail is raised and curled over its back. It's an adorable toy, and one of a kind, made by a local fabric artist, based on the 1950s cult classic film, "Killer Shrews". A colorized still photo from the 1950s film "Killer Shrews", showing a ferocious Killer Shrew, baring its sharp teeth and long fangs. The creature is an ordinary dog, in a costume, meant to make it seem terrifying, but it's still just a cute doggo having fun on set. The film is in black and white. This image has been colorized to make the Killer Shrew look golden brown, tan, and dark brown.

Jackey's painting is a side portrait of a "Killer Shrew", which looks an awful lot like a dog in a costume, with wicked long, sharp teeth bared, against an indigo nighttime backdrop with a full moon overhead. The Killer Shrew has golden brown and tan long fur, similar to a lion's mane. The dark outline of tropical trees can be seen in the distance at the horizon. The style is simple, with a marble technique, and the shapes are defined with black outline. Jackey Neyman Jones is best known for her role as "Debbie" in the worst film ever made, "Manos The Hands of Fate", as a young child in the 1960's. Her dad, Tom Neyman, was the actor who played the role of "The Master" in the film, and is the artist who created the iconic hand-staff, The Master's portrait, and many other art pieces seen in the film. Jackey's mom made the unforgettable hand-robes & other costumes, and even their family Doberman dog, "Shanka", participated in the role of the hell hound. Jackey continues her dad's legacy of art, creative engagement, pop culture, and community to fans new and old through her online art classes, hosted by Dumb Industries. She's been named "The Bob Ross of Manos". Her classes are fun, relaxing, and her community of artists is welcoming and positive. My tiny, sloped front yard, with the 1906 Dutch colonial victorian house, which is painted shades of a creamy white & warm yellow. A Scarlet Sumac bush on the corner is in full, vibrant, breathtaking autumn red/orange foliage. It's a rainy grey day. Zoomed out a bit to show more of the front yard of my house, with the dazzling Scarlet Sumac, a flowering Chitalpa tree, a large Hydrangea bush with spent blossoms turning fallow, and a Ruby Ironwood tree, which is also a vibrant reddish orange, though it looks pale compared to the sumac. Some black fabric garden pots hold some other plants, and it shows the scale of my yard, which is barely bigger than the house footprint itself. Two flights of stairs climb the steep slope to the front porch. Zoomed in on the amazing, intense red/orange leaves of the Scarlet Sumac bush on the corner of my yard. This is probably the last day the plant will have its leaves. They will drop quickly from wind, rain, and cold. had to get a pic of them before they go. It's a stunner of a plant. Very beautiful.
