Five years after rescuing Snowball, Fudge and Mocha from a house fire, we got the sweetest kind of reunion. The homeowner, and pup parent, reached out to let us know everyone was thriving! We love these types of happy endings. 🚒🐾

A Stage 1 Burn Ban is now in effect countywide. This restricts the burning of any yard waste/debris (which is never permitted in Bellevue). Recreational fires are still allowed as long as they are 25' from structures, 10' from vegetation and are attended at all times.

Last week some of our rescue technicians spent three days training for tower rescues. From the classroom to climbing a communication tower to rappelling from a tower crane, we train hard so we’re always prepared.

We're heading into a heat advisory. And while the air may be sweltering, our lakes are still chilly enough to cause cold water shock. Jumping in too fast can be dangerous - even for strong swimmers. Play it safe. Wear a life jacket and keep eyes on those swimming. #ColdWaterSafety #PNWHeat

This morning Taylor and Colette got a “Red Hot Ride to School” with Bellevue Firefighter Brandon. Each year, we donate five of these unique experiences to non-profits in our service area.

There is a large water main break in the intersection of NE 20th St and 148th Ave Ne. All lanes of traffic leading into the intersection will be closed for a while. Pack your patience and find alternative routes

Ladder 103 came to the rescue of baby ducklings trapped in a storm drain. A passerby called it in—unfortunately, mom was nowhere to be found. Crews safely retrieved the them, brought them to Seattle Humane & are happy to share they’re heading to a new home on a lake and five-acre property!

Fire crews from Bellevue and Renton Regional Fire Authority clearing the scene of a fire in Newcastle that burnt a steep slope and back deck of a home. A neighbor, who was attempting to put the fire out when crews arrived, sustained minor burns and was transported to a local hospital.

Just after 6:30 a.m., fire was dispatched to a T-bone collision in front of the Fred Meyer on 148th Avenue Northeast. Crews worked quickly to rescue a trapped driver. Paramedics transported one of the drivers to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fire crews responded to a boat fire at the Newport Yacht Basin earlier this morning. On arrival, we found employees using an extinguisher on a smoldering fire aboard a 30’ boat. The fire was quickly contained with no threat to the dock or surrounding boats.

Oh, hail no! We could be facing lightning, strong, gusty winds, heavy rain and hail up to 1” in diameter this evening, which could lead to power outages, flooding and damage from hail. If you can, stay inside, don't drive through standing water & be prepared for power outages.

Earlier this morning, fire crews responded to a serious collision at NE 8th St near Crossroads Park. Two occupants were transported to local hospitals. @bvuepd.bsky.social is on scene conducting an investigation. Expect the road to be closed for a while.

Bellevue Fire Chief Jay Hagen (left) announced today he has accepted the position of fire chief in Kalispell, Mont. His last day with the @cityofbellevuewa.bsky.social will be April 25. Deputy Chief Dave Tait (right) will be appointed interim fire chief upon Hagen's departure.
