Only Fisichella and Kimi Raikkonen were on the podium as Fernando Alonso, who placed third, was taken to hospital after a horrifying crash that brought the race to an abrupt halt. It took six days to determine that Fisichella was the correct winner. #Formula1 #F1

If there is anything that sums up the chaotic nature of the race, it's the image of Giancarlo Fisichella's Jordan, the eventual winner, catching fire in parc ferme. #Formula1

The opener for the 2003 season was awash with emphasis on regulation changes, a new points system and format for qualifying. There were also concerns about TV ratings. The first race was a thrilling reminder of how unpredictable it could all be. Coulthard's win truly was unexpected. #Formula1

Another pivotal career starter within Sauber was Felipe Massa. Massa's time was complex. After his rookie season in 2002, he was dropped, becoming a test driver for Ferrari in '03, but would return to Sauber in '04 and stay until the end 2005, eventually joining Ferrari in 2006. #Formula1

The Sauber seat was the first competitive drive in F1 for Kim Raikokonen (pictured here with Nick Heidfeld) and who made an immediate impact upon his debut. Only after one year at the team, he'd make his way to McLaren and replace two-time World Champion Mika Hakkinen. #Formula1

It's a goodbye to Sauber Motorsport from F1. The team has raced under various forms over its long history in the sport, including Sauber Petronas, BMW Sauber, Alfa Romeo and Kick Sauber, but its takeover by Audi has a finite feel to it, a goodbye to the team. #Formula1 #AbuDhabiGP
