Perfect timing, I took a pic of my mom’s at thanksgiving. I grew up eating this and it’s so decadent and delish. Especially if you use good sharp cheddar!!
Macaroni & cheese - serves 4-6. 350 degrees 1 hour 3-qt uncovered casserole 8 oz cooked macaroni 3T butter or oil 2T flour (plus!!!) 1/2t salt Pinch pepper 2 1/4 (less!!!) whole milk 3/4 lb sharp cheese in SMALL pieces Buttered bread crumbs Paprika for color (over) 1. Melt butter in skillet, blend in flour, sit & cook gently 1 min. Add salt + pepper. 2. Add milk VERY slowly, stirring. Cook til thickens 3. Add cheese stirring while simmering til melted 4. Put cooled macaroni in greased casserole, pour sauce over 5. Sprinkle with crumbs, then paprika
