after dealing with a 16-year-old hard drive for too long i finally got the cheapest 512gb ssd i could find and it is AMAZING. my pc boots in like 30 seconds now instead of 5 minutes, and it just runs SO much faster. the best part is that my dumpster pc got its hard drive back, so now i have 2 pcs!

i accidentally managed to get some of the songs on damn skippy on spotify, i don't have spotify premium so i have no clue how these are working without my local files, but i'm not complaining.

after a lot of digging, i managed to find my favorite chrome extension from like 10 years ago! it was a recreation of the windows 8 start menu but as a chrome new tab window, and i'm surprised that it still kinda works!

i just got a kindle for only $28, it’s my first one ever and i absolutely love it. it came with a scratch on the backlight, which is why it was so cheap, but i don’t mind it. i have all of my repair manuals on it, this thing is awesome when i need to take something apart.

apple released a new web ui for the app store and i noticed something odd, apple's now applying their own liquid glass-ification tools to app icons that were already uploaded without liquid glass. they have the same url, except apple's modified version has "ia" added to the image name.

good news, i got the purchase buttons to (mostly) work! i still have to work out if i can get the icons to appear, but that's a little above my paygrade.

i got bored, so i started working on a userscript that would bring back some of the old amazon website's design elements, and i got the old ratings bar style to work! it looks really weird with the new-style stars, but i'm working on changing those too.

i got a little bit bored, so i made my windows 10 look almost exactly like windows 8.1. unpopular opinion, windows 8.1 was the last good-looking windows version, windows 10 is way too bland and colorless, and windows 11 is just horrific.

okay, funny story, they changed the date to september 30th. i guess they realized that people are probably pissed about this, so they gave us 2 or so extra months. i guess that's extra time for me to port my projects to fl studio

macs (for some dumb reason) leave little turd files on flash drives with every file you open, i searched my hard drive for them and i found 38,643 of them! that's 154 MEGABYTES taken up for no damn reason. thanks, apple.

i finally eradicated all the big sur icons that i could from my mac's dock! here's how it looks now, i think i did a good (enough) job...

i finally figured out how to semi-change the system icons on mac since i hate the big sur icons, so i made some mac os x catalina-styled icons for the apps that didn't exist when catalina was made. sorry if bluesky compresses these to hell and back.

i bought a combo ipod dock and cd player at a thrift store for $15, and it works amazing. sadly, it doesn’t have the remote, and $15 is a bit pricey for my broke self, but if you think about it, it’s like $7.50 for each one, plus a radio. it’s also the first actual “hifi” thing i’ve ever owned, yay!

i was bored, so i hooked up a wireless charger in my computer’s dvd drive. i know, it’s dumb, and it’ll probably catch on fire, but can you shove your phone in your computer’s dvd slot and have it charge?

okay nevermind, apple hates me, and now i'm stuck on sequoia whether i like it or not. apparently it's a firmware issue, and to fix the firmware you need another mac, and this is the only mac i'll probably ever have until like a decade from now, so i'm screwed! #goddammitapplekillme
