I added the ability to add frame events to my animation preview tool for my #bevy game. Still a bunch of work to do to migrate event data when the source aseprite file changes, but I'm looking forward to not having to hardcode when a footstep sound plays

Another benefit from this is easier handling of enemy spawning and management. One thing I tried in the past and it was just super finicky was having enemies stay dead while transitioning levels. Now it Just Works

One thing I've been trying to do with this rewrite is being a lot more cognizant and explicit with system ordering, game states and control flow. @bevyengine.org's substates really help with this. The code for using a door went from ~500 lines to ~100, with much much easier to understand logic

After getting a comm & fanart I really wish I had more to show of my game right now, but I just nuked it. Whoops.

Rebuilding has been going well but everything I've been working on doesn't translate to screenshots or a gif well. This looks basic as hell!

In the process of upgrading my #bevy game from 0.14 to 0.15, I realized the core of my game is rotten. So I deleted more than half of it.

over 17k lines removed. All the gameplay code gone. Time to start over*

There's a bunch of little issues with it. I tested my riser with the wrong LEDs so they don't fit snug, some of the solder joints are pretty sketchy, and I don't know how to clean the flux.

Despite all that, I'm still super proud of it. Look at how tiny those resistors are! They work!
