This sucks. Marylanders don't want to see AI in any part of our bureaucracy — it is straightforwardly a bad idea. Please reconsider giving our tax dollars to these con artists.

I think the title might be hurting it. It comes off like the video is an essay about the mediocrity of the Japan Expo (boring), rather than a fun goofy edited vlog, which more people might click on. I avoided Dan's cooking video for ages because I thought it was actually just a cooking vid lol

Breaks my heart when ppl say WP is a secondary source and that it mainly cites primary sources. Both are antithetical to the site's most fundamental guidelines!

Not to say that I don't think the organizations who create the models (or even the user prompting them) aren't *liable* for the text they generate. The text generates the way it does as a result of decisions made by the humans behind it, obviously.

I struggle to accept that intentfully constructing parameters for text generation implies that the generated content is expression. Again, suggested text on a phone keyboard is programmed by humans with language rules/patterns in mind and affected by user input, but is self-evidently not expression.

I will note that I am not a lawyer, nor am I trained in the precise legal meaning of "expression" in US first amendment law

Expression suggests intent and a sentient/conscious source (be it an individual or a collective), no? Expression ≠ anything that holds semantic meaning. My alphabet soup could legibly spell "HELLO WORLD" but it wouldn't be any different than it spelling "WLOHOLRELD". Soup cannot express anything.
