From the RTi images it looks like the words are “天仁“. Perhaps from an admirer or owner of the tsuba? A friend mentioned also could be the year during Heian period. I’m looking forward to find out more.

An RTi dome. Originally we thought someone tried to rub and polish out the name, but under RTi we were able to determine that the faint script is of a different hand, as you can clearly see the writing style is crude and doesn’t line up the beautiful signature below it.

I’d have thought that’s the bare minimum… so does that mean all the winners who won past and present is based on hypes or how much money they’ve (studios) spent on campaigning it?
