I am not religious but in 2001 I was backpacking in Italy & ended up in the Vatican city on the day (Wednesdays?) when the Pope comes out to speak. In the heat the many other visitors treated the Vatican water fountains like they were a religious experience. The love was infectious, and I joined in

Old tymy skating in TO. When the people in the hood decided to add an outdoor curling sheet it seemed a little.... ambitious. But there it is, with rings, lines and hacks to boot, and they just leave the bloody rocks out there in the park.

Once every eight years I enjoy a rousing game of 'What country will the USA annex next?' This year, as a Canadian, the parlour sport is extra spicy. So far he/it's O for 4 (Greenland, Panama, Canada and Gaza) but nobody ever achieved greatness by throwing in the towel after a few minor setbacks
