My cat, Gracie, has claimed my pillow. I didn't want to wake her to move her.

So apparently I picked the hottest week in Victoria to come over and do yardwork. Bloody hell it was hot! Pruning roses and weeding while trying not to sweat to death. At least the flowers are pretty.

Once a month I look after my aunt's garden on Vancouver island. There are a lot of mature rose bushes. Most are yellow but this peach one really caught my eye.

First time making a vegan pumpkin pie. It's texture is pretty much like standard pumpkin pie but the taste is way less pumpkin and less sweet. I wonder if it's from the lack of eggs? Definitely some chemistry going on.

It's Grace's fifth birthday this month. Yes I'm celebrating it all month because she was born in the woods and her birthdate is not exact. I adopted her and Mercy from Tiny Kittens. Great rescue and TNR org. They have 24/7 cams on their YouTube channel. Go watch kitties.
