But an unplatformed green new deal

The last anthropogenic disaster on the level of climate collapse was WWII. And the only solution for European countries and Japan were to adopt socialism. The countries that recovered the best wrote themselves a blank check and just socialized everything.

There was already a 337,000 unit deficit in housing in the area and a shortage in construction labor due to closed immigration, wage stagnation, and union suppression. People simply feel the job pays too little with few workplace safety provisions.

I guess we'll never know. But I know for damn sure people were put out of their homes due to coastal flooding in December and these fires will put out thousands so maybe we start looking at displacement from housing as an environmental issue and not a carceral one.

I'm am very worried for the average person losing their homes. I think if Pacific Palisades rebuilds again, they will likely have their own private fire fighters, which was made illegal in the 1800s b/c they would sabotage other brigades to win contracts.

Pacific Palisades: 83% white, six figure annual incomes. This is one of the richest subdivisions in the entire world. This fire is really scary and compromises a lot of California's ability to be insured at all.
